It’s what I call my prairie trail, an access road between one farmstead and another, on which I walk early summer mornings. It’s not much, just a couple of gravel/dirt ruts between two grove of trees, but in the early morning sun, it’s breathtaking to me. The prairie wind is usually gentle at that time. The sun is just up over the horizon. The birds are just on their morning flights, and the occasional deer will come scampering out, chased out of hiding by my hubbie’s dog. It makes my morning walk a joyful experience. The peace I feel almost cleanses my soul. Sappy, I know, but it’s how it is to me.
Now, I just have to take a picture with my new camera that will do it justice.
